Our Story.

Born From Experience. Built for Change
The She Rose Foundation USA was not just founded — it was felt into existence.
Our story begins with one Black woman’s journey through a healthcare system that too often dismissed her pain, ignored her symptoms, and reduced her voice to a whisper. That woman is our founder, Taylour Joi, who as a young girl navigated chronic illness with strength, but without the support or understanding she deserved. Like far too many Black women and girls, she was met with disbelief instead of care, delays instead of answers, and silence instead of solutions.
Her experience isn’t rare — and that’s the problem.
The She Rose Foundation USA was created to change that narrative. We exist to uplift and protect Black women and girls as they navigate healthcare systems that were never designed with them in mind. What began as a personal journey of survival and self-advocacy has grown into a national movement to end disparities, amplify patient voices, and build a future where Black women are heard, respected, and healed.
At our core, we believe in:
Centering lived experiences as truth.
Advocating for equity in every clinic, hospital, and policy room.
Creating space for Black women and girls to rise — in health, leadership, and community.
This is more than advocacy. It’s a reclamation.
She was dismissed. So She Rose. And now, we rise — together.
