Why This Event Matters.

Black mothers in the United States face disproportionately high rates of maternal mortality, breastfeeding challenges, and gaps in postpartum support. These disparities are rooted in systemic inequities, provider bias, and a lack of culturally competent care. Nurture & Nourish was created to be more than a workshop—it’s a safe, empowering space that centers the unique needs and experiences of Black mothers.

By offering affirming lactation education and postpartum resources, this event seeks to reduce stigma, close knowledge gaps, and strengthen community connections. Through collaboration with trusted birth professionals and advocates, we are fostering a culture where Black mothers feel heard, respected, and equipped to care for themselves and their babies.

This event is part of our ongoing commitment to maternal health equity—because every Black mother deserves dignity, support, and joy in her birthing and healing journey
