Mid-Atlantic Chapter.

What We Focus On In The Mid-Atlantic.

The Mid-Atlantic Chapter advances The She Rose Foundation USA’s national mission with a focus on issues most impacting Black women and girls in our region, including:

  • Maternal and reproductive health equity

  • Chronic illness and delayed diagnosis (e.g., endometriosis, autoimmune conditions)

  • Access to culturally competent healthcare

  • Patient advocacy and health literacy

  • Policy education and civic engagement

  • Leadership development and workforce pathways

Our work is informed by community feedback, research, and the lived experiences of Black women navigating healthcare systems across the Mid-Atlantic.

Mid-Atlantic Chapter Success Story Spotlight.

Endometriosis Wellness Kit Drive for Black Women Living with Endometriosis

In March 2025, in recognition of Endometriosis Awareness Month, our Maryland Subregion launched a powerful community initiative: the Endometriosis Wellness Kit Drive. Focused on uplifting and supporting Black women living with endometriosis, this event exemplified The She Rose Foundation USA’s mission to address health disparities through action, advocacy, and compassion.

The subregion partnered with Endo Black, Inc., the University of Maryland Black Pre-Medical Society, and local volunteers to create and distribute wellness kits filled with items designed to bring relief, comfort, and encouragement to those living with chronic pain and fatigue caused by endometriosis.

The event not only provided tangible support to women in the community, but also sparked important conversations about reproductive justice, delayed diagnoses, and the lack of representation of Black women in endometriosis care and research.

Thanks to the commitment of our chapter leaders and volunteers, the wellness kit drive reached dozens of women, creating a ripple effect of awareness, sisterhood, and support in Prince George’s County and beyond.

“This was more than a giveaway — it was a message to Black women that their pain is real, their voices matter, and they are not alone.”

— Maryland Subregional Director, Prince George’s County
